Job fairs draw larger and older crowds. DON’T be one of the crowd.

By: Michael Rocha

I was reading an article yesterday and the title was, “Job fairs draw larger and older crowds.” What does that tell you? Find the company before the company has the job fair. The title doesn’t state that no one is hiring, it says that companies are hiring and there are a lot of people who don’t do enough research. At a job fair you are 1 out of 500, but if you apply to the company direct, then you may be 1 out of 50. In any case, finding the company before a hiring blitz increases your chance of getting the job. How do you find these companies? RESEARCH!! Even if that means getting your hands dirty and opening the yellow pages and calling every company near you. Another way to find companies who are hiring is by calling a recruiter. I can tell you who is hiring and what is going on in the engineering field.
